Linkin Park

You would have to be living under a rock to not know who these guys are. Therefore, i am not going to go into details on who they are. If you don't know..shame.on.you. So I'm just going to go straight into their songs.

What I've Done
Somewhere I Belong

The White Stripes

Jack and Meg White. The previous ( now divorced) couple are The White Stripes. They're such a lovely duo. I think it might even be better that they're not still married. Because we won't have song after song after song about their love. But everyone's allowed their opinion so don't hate me for mine.
Onto the songs!
Seven Nation Army
Hypnotize
Broken Bricks
Catch Hell Blues

These are the ones i chose to share, but any by these two is great!

Bob Marley

wonderful quote
February 6, 1945-May 11, 1981. This man is a legend. He is what made reggae music popular. He is an inspiration to many and it's sad that he died at such an early age. Every time i listen to one of his songs, i think "Hey, this is what real music is. This is what i live for." Here's some by him.

I Shot The Sheriff
Red Red Wine
3 Little Birds
Buffalo Soldier

I guarantee you have heard at least 1 of these songs, either on the radio, or movie. Also, I know Bob Marley was a "fan" of marijuana. I'm not here supporting it. I'm supporting the man who created this music.

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne. She's simply amazing. It may have something to do with her being Canadian ( wink wink). But actually, she started out at just 16 years old, and 10 years later she's still doing her thing. That's impressive. She's definitely one of a kind. Her songs? Have meaning. They're not just pointless little love songs. Well, not all of them at least. But a lot of them show that girls can do anything guys can do. Some of us do skateboard, dye our hair crazy colours, swear, and hang with guys. So on to the songs.

Girlfriend such a classic
When You're Gone
My Happy Ending
Sk8er Boi

Also, i know there's a difference in opinion as to whether the old Avril ( as seen above) or the new ( "what the hell") is better. Well, you people just need to grow up and accept people change. You don't have to like everything an artist puts out, but that doesn't make them less of a musician. Tell me what you think.

Nirvana

Ah Nirvana. Such a lovely band. Not even a bit auto tune. Sigh. They just make me smile with appreciation. Just think, they must be really good to still be known when they were made in 1987. The last line up of members included Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl. Nothing more i say can represent their awesomeness accurately, so i'll just move onto the songs for you guys.

Heart Shaped Box
Smells Like Teen Spirit
Lithium
About A Girl

So tell me what you think about Nirvana, the blog, or just music in general!

MGMT

So this post is also dedicated to Mackenzie Rhyan. She picked the band for today.

Andrew VanWyngarden, Ben Goldwasser, James Richardson, Matt Asti, and Will Berman make up the psychedelic rock group MGMT. They have 4 albums, including, "Congratulations" and "Climbing to New Lows". There music? The least i can say is creative. But i'll let you decide what you think of it. So here's my picks.

Time To Pretend
Electric Feel
Kids
Flash Delirium

And those songs show exactly why people love MGMT.
And just because i'm curious for your opinion....which video did you think was the most messed up? I think Electric Feel.

Matt and Kim

I'm willing to bet that most of you have no idea who Matt and Kim are. So I'll tell you. Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino are an indie-rock duo that rule the world (Theoretically of course). They've had 3 albums, "Matt and Kim", "Grand", and "Sidewalks". All of these are mind blowing. And did i mention the creativity of their lyrics? Take a listen to "Daylight" and you'll see what i mean.

But as per the usual, here's my favorite's by them. There's a lot because they are my personal heroes.
Cameras
Lessons Learned
Daylight <--my personal favorite! :)
And that's the last one i'll put up for you.
OH! And a special shout out to Mackenzie Rhyan! She's amazing and an equally amazing Matt and Kim fan.

Weezer

Ah Weezer. This band brings back memories. I mean, who hasn't heard "Beverley Hills"?
So in said band, we have Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner. Together they make up the alternative rock group that is Weezer. They've released 9 albums including; "Pinkerton" and "Weezer". I love these guys to death. There songs are hilarious yet still have a meaning. It's wonderful.

So here's a list for you to check out.

Beverly Hills - Childhood memories right there
Buddy Holly
Pork and Beans
Island In The Sun

And that's it guys. Oh! And in case you missed seeing it. Look to the right of this post, and you'll see a poll. You should vote in it. I want to see how the majority of people listen to music. I myself use most of those. Sans the ipod currently, because mine got stolen. O.o

And one last link for you guys. It's to a website that tells you what important things happened in music for the day. Like when people were born, died, or other interesting things. http://www.musicorb.com/. Go check it out!

Eminem

Marshall Mathers, or as the world knows him, Eminem, is an amazing song writer, rapper, and inspiration to every music lover out there. What other to say than....WOW. Before i take this furthur, let me mention that I am talking about the old Eminem, not the 2010-present Eminem. I'm talking about the "Mockingbird" and "I think my dad's gone crazy" Eminem. Not the "I'm not afraid" one.

Although his lyrics are still inspiring and awe inducing, it's just not the same. He's lost his style, his uniqueness. He's become what the media wants. Not what his fans want. And with him changing, it is sad to see that so many of his fans have switched over to mainstream as well. sigh. But let me share with you some links to the good Eminem.

1. Mockingbird
2. I Think My Dad's Gone Crazy
3. Hailey's Song
4. Like Toy Soldiers

So do you have a favorite Eminem song? Let me know! :)

Florence+The Machine

What to say about this wonderful artist. Well I guess just that. She's unique, fresh, and her songs are upbeat enough to get your attention, but relaxed enough to keep it. Her voice just sends chills down my spine. But instead of me just sitting and describing her to you, how about i give you some links to her awesomeness? I'll give you my top 5 favorite songs. :)

1. Cosmic Love
2. Rabbit Heart ( Raise It Up)
3. You've Got The Love
4. Kiss With A Fist
5. Drumming Song

And just for you to know, I consider myself a music geek/nerd/fanatic, and when asked what i listen to, i respond with everything. if you want to read about the songs the radio plays ( Ke$ha for example) you're in the wrong place. I deal with MUSIC, no autotune.

On another note, If you have a favorite band/artist, feel free to make a comment and i just might make a post about them. Cheers!
